8. Khewra Salt Mine

Khewra Salt mine is the world's second largest salt mine. It is located in North Punjab near Kallar Kahar. It is a great tourist attraction and every year more than 300,000 tourists visit Khewra. The salt mine is spread on very large area and has been developed much by PTDC. A small train takes inside the Salt mine. A number of replicas of some other tourist attractions such as Badshahi Mosque, Minar-e-Pakistan etc are built from salt. Salt is transparent. Inside the mine there are ponds and small lakes which are also full of salt and a person can't drown in such water. Alphabets are also made from salt and sold to tourists. It also has a small hospital where patients of Asthma are treated. Khewra Salt mine is an awesome place to visit. Tourist guides are available for convenience. There is also a Salt bricked mosque present. Furthermore a Canteen and a restuarant has been built too. Khewra Salt mine is rated 8.4 out of 10
